The biggest result of the weekend
Judging purely by the scorelines, the standout was Hoffenheim 3-0 Leverkusen in Sunday's Bundesliga game. It was the biggest winning margin on the coupon, and the only game where one side won by three goals. A clean home win like that is a reminder that a single (1, X or 2) can be wrong-footed by a convincing scoreline.
Notable scorelines
- Napoli 3-3 Roma was the goal-fest of the weekend: six goals and a draw, which made it the only X with more than two goals.
- Toulouse 0-0 Troyes was the only goalless game on the coupon, and it finished the weekend on Sunday evening.
- Utrecht 1-1 Zwolle was the third and final draw.
- Away sides won three times: Fulham at Coventry City (1-0), Casa Pia at Amadora (2-0) and Villarreal at Valencia (2-1).
- Arsenal, Wolverhampton and Dortmund all kept clean sheets in home wins.
- Santander, Lazio and RC Lens each won 2-1 at home.
How the players did
We had 12 coupons scored this weekend. Nobody landed all 13, so the perfect score stays up for grabs. The best score was 8 and the average was 7.3. With three draws and three away wins in the mix, there were plenty of results that could cost a point, so a total in the high sevens is a solid weekend.
